Why the brain, and not only the body

Heart rate, power and lactate describe the physical cost of an effort. They cannot tell whether an athlete is mentally exhausted or simply physically tired, and the two call for different decisions.

Reading the brain next to the effort separates the two. It shows when concentration fades before the legs do, and which training loads leave the athlete sharp for the moment that counts.

What is neurotechnology in sport?

It is the measurement of an athlete's brain activity, typically by EEG, to understand focus, mental fatigue and stress. SPARK SPORT applies it to training and preparation.

What is the difference between mental and physical fatigue?

Physical fatigue sits in the muscles and the cardiovascular system. Mental fatigue sits in the brain: slower decisions, lapses of attention. Physiological measures alone struggle to separate them, which is why SPARK reads the brain.

Can EEG be used during real training?

Movement is the main obstacle to reading a brain signal on an athlete. The SPARK core is engineered for motion, vibration and heat, which is what makes measurement in real sessions possible.
